Meet Our Staff

Robert J. Kenney – President

KEN-WELD was founded by Mr. Kenney’s father, John Kenney in 1945 and he started working full time at the company as Production Manager in 1968. While holding the position of Production Manager Mr. Kenney developed and implemented the systems for inventory control and production still being used by KEN-WELD today. In 1973 he took over as President of the company and has held the position since. Under his stewardship KEN-WELD became an ASME code qualified fabricator with an outstanding reputation for quality and customer satisfaction. In his years as President Mr. Kenney has constantly looked for ways to improve operations establishing strict quality standards, consistently modernizing equipment, and incorporating aspects of LEAN manufacturing into purchasing and production. This has allowed KEN-WELD meet their customers infinitely varied requirements cost effectively, with reliable, just in time delivery.

Michael Burke – General Manager

Mr. Burke joined KEN-WELD in 2007 as General Manager. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from WPI with 20 years experience in a manufacturing environment having held positions as a Director of R & D, Director of Operations, and General Manager prior to coming to work at KEN-WELD. His varied prior experience allows familiarity with all aspects of operations at KEN-WELD from quoting through production and ultimately final inspection and shipping.

Walter Michalski – QC Manager

Walter Michalski has bee KEN-WELDs QC Manager since 2005, overseeing the company wide quality assurance program. Walter has over 38 years experience in the metal fabrication industry. He has been with KEN-WELD for the last 16 of those years and is responsible for maintaining all ASME and AWS certifications.

Al Lapierre – Plant Manager

Al Lapiere has been with KEN-WELD for 38 years in various capacities serving as Plant Manager for the past 15 years. Al is responsible for all Shipping/Receiving as well as scheduling all work for the stress relief furnace, grit blast room, and paint department.

Richard Sargent – Sales/Lead Estimator

Through his 24 years with KEN-WELD, Mr. Sargent has provided technical expertise to the sales and engineering teams. Rick has a BS in Chemical Engineering from WPI and 13 years prior professional service with two Fortune 200 corporations. In his time with the company he has managed various activities at Ken-Weld. Having a strong background in cost estimation, he has managed estimating and product pricing and as V.P of Sales he is currently responsible for product pricing and sales activities. He also manages the Engineering department including oversight for ASME Code pressure vessel engineering efforts.
